Wow, ist der hässlich!
Über dem ganzen Rummel um die neue openSUSE 10.1 hätte ich fast übersehen, dass PSA und FIAT den Nachfolger von Ducato, Jumper und Boxer vorgestellt haben. Der alte wurde — soweit ich mich erinnern kann — zwölf Jahre lang produziert.
Nunja, eine Schönheit ist der neue nicht gerade. Aber ein im Sinne der Crashsicherheit tief und weit nach vorne geneigter Motor erfordert halt einen niedrigen Kühler. Bleibt genügend Werbefläche auf der Motorhaube. Das Layout mit Frontantrieb sorgt für eine niedrigere Ladekante als beim neuen VW Crafter oder beim IVECO Daily — schöner macht es ihn nicht.
Ich bin vor allem auf die Motoren gespannt. Die kleineren dürften die 2l HDi-Maschinen aus den PSA-PKWs sein. Im Transporter ist mit 66 bis 80kW zu rechnen. Um 90 bis 100kW könnte der neue 2,2l-Block aus 407 und C5 zum Einsatz kommen. Wirklich gespannt bin ich auf den 2,8l — sollte es wieder einen geben –, dessen Basismotor bislang von IVECO stammte.
