Von Splittern und Balken
In den letzten Tagen und Wochen entzündete sich an (recht plump gemachten) Mohammed-Karikaturen einer dänischen Tageszeitung (Jyllands-Posten), für die sich der Herausgeber längst entschuldigt hat, eine hitzige Debatte um die Pressefreiheit und darum, wie böse eigentlich Karikaturen sein dürfen.
Wir taten uns in den letzten Wochen sehr leicht damit, auf die bösen Moslems zu zeigen, die das mit der Freiheit der Kunst noch nicht verstanden haben. Dass wir selbst noch über einen Blasphemie-Pragraphen (§166 StGB) verfügen, ignorieren wir dabei geflissentlich. Denn der 166 kommt ja nur zur Anwendung wenn der innere Friede gestört ist.
Dies schien zumindest bei Haderers “Das Leben des Jesus” der Fall: Dutzende Anzeigen prasselten auf Haderer ein — wegen eines liebevoll illustrierten und ansonsten eher zahnlosen Büchleins, bei dem ein bekiffter Jesus durch den nahen Osten springt, auf ein Lagerfeld-Double trifft und schließlich mit Janis Joplin im Himmel sitzt.
Ernst machte erst die griechische Justiz, die sechs Monate Haft verhängte — massiv unterstützt durch bayrische und österreichische Politiker. Vielleicht sollten wir aufgeklärten Europäer das nächste Mal, wenn wir Toleranz gegenüber Karikaturisten fordern, überlegen wie tolerant wir selbst eigentlich sind.

Als diese Zeilen entstanden, brannten noch keine Botschaften. Erschreckend ist, dass die Zahl muslimischer Geistlicher und Publizisten, die zur Besonnenheit aufrufen und einen (harten, aber fairen) Diskurs suchen, so verdammt klein ist.
I find these images ridiculous.
In Islam, we’re not allowed to draw pictures of the other prophets e.g. Jesus, Moses, Abraham, we respect all these prophets.
Yet to find pictures like these of our beloved prophet Muhumad peace be upon him is insulting. It is a direct attack on Islam.
If people take time to read about the life of Prophet pbuh, they will not he was a mercy to mankind.
Sagen wir es mal so: ich würde jede Gesetzesinitiative begrüssen, die diesen unsinnigen Blasphemieparagraphen abschafft. Die Reaktionen waren ebenso lächerlich, wie die gegenwärtigen Reaktionen der Muslime.
Trotzdem handelt es sich im aktuellen Fall um ein anderes Kaliber. Es geht im Wesentlichen nicht um ein paar beleidigte Religionsanhänger, sondern um die Grundfrage ob das Zusammenleben der Kulturen durch Gewalt diktiert werden kann, oder nicht. Die aktuellen Proteste sind künstlich, sie werden durch eine radikale Minderheit geschürt. Der Großteil der protestierenden Muslime hat die Karikaturen nie zu Gesicht bekommen. Die gleiche kleine Minderheit versucht mittels Gewalt ihre politische Position stärker erscheinen zu lassen, als sie ist. Wenn “wir” jetzt nachgeben, und unsere Grundrechte in Hinsicht Presse-, Meinungs- und Kunstfreiheit relativieren, ist das der Anfang vom Ende der Demokratie.
Es war sicher keine gute Idee, solche Karikaturen zu veröffentlichen. Aber es wäre auch keine gute Idee, sie nun demütig zurückzuziehen.

Dem (und dem Orwell-Zitat in Deinem Blog) kann ich mich vollumfänglich anschließen. Ich weise lediglich darauf hin, dass viele derer, die laut mit der Freiheit der Kunst argumentieren, auf vermeintlich Verunglimpfungen Israels oder des Christentums überhaupt nicht liberal reagieren. So ist es interessant zu beobachten, wie die amerikanischen Neocons die Stimmung derzeit geschickt anheizen, um mit dem Finger auf die “demokratieunfähigen Moslems” zeigen zu können.

Die offizielle Haltung der USA ist glücklicherweise recht besonnen. Man hat genügend Probleme im Nahen Osten. Nicht auszudenken, was passierte, wenn die USA sich hier offizielle hinter die derzeit in Europa vorherrschende Meinung stellten. Zu besagten Neocons suche ich Dir noch ein paar Links heraus…
Interessant ist hiertzulande die eher abwartende Haltung der Bild-Zeitung: “Ich persönlich würde in “Bild” keine Karikaturen drucken, die bewußt religiöse Gefühle verletzen.” (Kai Diekmann)
Die ursprüngliche Fassung des § 166 StGB hatte “die Lästerung Gottes” mit Strafe bedroht. Nach einem Vorschlag von B90/Grüne wurde dies gestrichen. § 166 beinhaltet eine “Eignungsklausel” und dient nach herrschender Meinung ausschliesslich dem Rechtsgut des “öffentlichen Friedens”. Im Umkehrschluss wird also nie die isolierte “Gotteslästerung” bestraft, insofern würde ich nicht von einem Blasphemieparagraphen sprechen. Religiöse und weltanschauliche Bekenntnisse sind als dem Kernbereich personaler Würde und Freiheit zuzuordnende sozialen Gegebenheiten anzusehen, deren Achtung die Voraussetzung für ein friedliches Zusammenleben einer Gesellschaft ist. Die Gesetzgebung hält richtigerweise gerade an diesen historisch geprägten Paragraphen fest, wenn auch bei § 166 StGB eine weitgehende Überschneidung mit § 130 StGB, Volksverhetzung, vorliegt.
